How to play
Lake Holdings
Monopoly on the water: buy fishing grounds round the lake, take tolls, and don't fish them dry.
How you win
Eight rounds, one turn each. At the end: coins + 2 a ground + 2 a building + 1 a fish still on your grounds, times next spring's year.
The choice that matters
Haul your ground now, or let it breed?
- 1. Roll and sail
On your turn roll the die and sail 1-6 squares round the lake. Passing your own home pays 3 coins. After 12 seconds the die rolls itself.
- 2. Buy grounds
Land on a ground nobody owns and you may buy it. Whoever lands on yours pays you a toll, twice as much if you own its whole colour.
- 3. Haul or build
On your own ground: haul it (3 fish, a coin each), or build a net (it hauls 6 after every round) or a pond (+2 fish and +2 coins a round, a dearer toll). Before you roll you may build on any one of your grounds.
- 4. The Lake Spirit
The purple squares draw a card: a bloom, market day, an inspector who fines nets, thieves, a tailwind…
- 5. The lake
After every round each ground with fish breeds a little; an empty one stays empty unless it has a pond. If the lake falls below 15% the match ends at once and everyone scores half.

The shared lake
Fish left on your grounds count at the end, and they breed. A net turns them into coins now; empty water stays empty.
